Dates - Saturday, July 26 or Saturday, August 9

Workshop Details - this 5-hour workshop for pianists explores the following essential tools and strategies:

  • Build on Students' Interests - learn how to empower students' own musical journey and build trust in every lesson.
  • Technique that Works - learn how to introduce piano students to basic technical elements for long term development.
  • Repertoire Framework - get acquainted with repertoire that prioritizes ear-before-eye musical development.
  • Melodies - find out the steps involved for beginner students to learn melodies by ear.
  • Hands together - get the inside tips to learning to play hands together pieces. 
  • Melodies and accompaniment - help students play with melody tone and accompaniment tone in each hand.

Frequently Asked Questions 

Do I need prior teaching experience? Not at all. This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. No previous teaching experience is required.

What if I'm not a music major in university? While a major in music is useful, this workshop is open to individuals who have completed upper level performance examinations. If you're unsure, please contact Dr. Thompson at Admin@TeachMusic21C.com.

Can I participate online? At the moment, in-person is the only available option. Please stay tuned for online developments.
