Frequently Asked Questions 

Where will the workshop be held? This is an in-person workshop held on the University of Calgary campus. Participants will receive the room location three days before the workshop. 

Do I need prior teaching experience? Not at all. This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. No previous teaching experience is required.

What if I'm not a music major in university? While a major in music is useful, this workshop is open to individuals who have completed upper level performance examinations. If you're unsure, please contact Dr. Thompson at Admin@TeachMusic21C.com.

Can I participate online? At the moment, in-person is the only available option. Please stay tuned for online developments. 

Who are the instructors? Dr. Jani Parsons is Assistant Professor and head of the piano program at the University of Calgary School of Creative and Performing ArtsDr. Merlin B. Thompson, the creator and founder of Teach Music 21C, is a leading expert in private music teaching.
